Instead of paying too much attention on the transmitting and receiving parts like most of current studies, we are focusing on the light-matter interactions in the beam propagation path, which should be the bottleneck of long-distance underwater optical communications. The research subjects include:

●Theory: Large-dimension particle scattering simulations; Linear and nonlinear optical absorption; Structured light and vector beams.

●Technology: Color-mixing communication algorithms; Optical polarization and phase modulations; High SNR encoding and decoding algorithms and hardware building.
